Colonel E. H. Taylor Single Barrel is crafted at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, and pays tribute to Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., one of the founding fathers of the modern bourbon industry. Known for his role in pioneering the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 and for introducing rigorous standards to whiskey production, Taylor’s legacy is carried forward in this single barrel expression that emphasizes authenticity and craftsmanship.

The bourbon is produced from a traditional mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley, distilled in copper stills before entering new, charred American oak barrels. Each barrel is hand-selected for its character and aged in warehouses built during Taylor’s era, where Kentucky’s seasonal temperature swings drive the spirit deep into the oak, extracting complexity and depth. By law, as a Bottled-in-Bond whiskey, it is aged for a minimum of four years, though many barrels rest significantly longer, and it is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

Because this is a single barrel release, every bottling reflects subtle variations that showcase the individuality of the cask, while remaining faithful to the distillery’s house style. Colonel E. H. Taylor Single Barrel embodies both tradition and precision, making it a highly regarded bourbon among collectors and connoisseurs of Kentucky whiskey.
