Gran Centenario - Tequila Plata is made from 100% Blue Weber agave cultivated in Jalisco, harvested only when fully mature. Piñas are slow‑cooked to convert inulin into fermentable sugars, then crushed to release the sweet juice.

Fermentation proceeds in stainless steel tanks with natural or selected yeasts before the wash is distilled, typically twice, in copper pot stills or stainless steel columns. For reposado and añejo styles, the spirit rests in oak barrels, where it develops additional complexity while keeping agave character at the forefront.

Production is carried out with respect for tradition and modern quality standards, yielding a tequila that reflects discipline and heritage.

Gran Centenario

Gran Centenario is one of Mexico’s heritage tequila brands, celebrated for both its history and its craftsmanship. Founded in 1857 by Lazaro Gallardo, it has remained a family-rooted label with deep ties to Jalisco, the heartland of tequila. From its very beginnings, Gran Centenario distinguished itself by focusing on quality agave and careful aging, and over time it became recognized as one of the country’s most respected tequilas. The name itself evokes pride and longevity, suggesting a spirit worthy of celebration and tradition.

What defines Gran Centenario’s identity is its “Selección Suave” process, in which older, well-aged tequilas are blended into younger ones to create a signature smoothness and layered complexity. This method ensures that each expression carries both vibrancy and depth, striking a balance that has become the hallmark of the brand. The range includes Plata, Reposado, Añejo, and more exclusive offerings like Leyenda, each representing a different face of the tequila spectrum while maintaining the house style.

The tequilas are made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, an area known for producing agave with higher sugar content and a brighter, more aromatic profile. Aging takes place in American oak barrels, where the spirits gain notes of vanilla, spice, and oak that complement the natural sweetness of the agave.

As a brand, Gran Centenario embodies Mexican pride, authenticity, and heritage. It is positioned as both a tequila for everyday enjoyment and one worthy of special occasions. Its angel-emblazoned bottle, an icon since the early 20th century, underscores its identity as a spirit that connects tradition, artistry, and celebration. To pour a glass of Gran Centenario is to experience more than just tequila—it is to taste a piece of Mexico’s cultural legacy.
