Inglenook-napa Valley - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Reserve Cask 2018 is produced in California with fruit sourced from vineyards selected for balance and varietal clarity. Hand harvesting and small‑lot vinification allow careful control of fermentations, with an emphasis on clean extraction and preservation of fruit integrity.

Fermentation is conducted in stainless steel or small open‑top tanks, depending on the varietal, with pump‑overs or punch‑downs managed to achieve structure without harshness. Aging takes place in a mix of French and American oak barrels, where time in wood refines texture and brings added complexity without masking the grape’s natural profile.

Each vintage reflects a commitment to sustainable vineyard practices and precise cellar work, yielding a wine that stands as a faithful expression of both varietal and region.

Inglenook

Inglenook is one of Napa Valley’s most historic and prestigious wine estates, with a legacy that dates back to the 19th century. It was founded in 1879 by Finnish sea captain Gustave Niebaum, who envisioned creating wines in California that could rival the best of Europe. From its very beginning, Inglenook set itself apart with an uncompromising commitment to quality, importing top vine stock and adopting advanced techniques that were ahead of their time. By the early 20th century, Inglenook had established a reputation as one of America’s great wine producers.

After periods of decline and changes in ownership during the mid-1900s, Inglenook experienced a rebirth in 1975 when filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola purchased part of the original estate using the profits from The Godfather. Over time, Coppola and his wife Eleanor restored the property piece by piece, eventually reclaiming the Inglenook name in 2011. Their vision was not just to revive a winery but to restore one of Napa’s crown jewels to its rightful place.

Today, Inglenook is renowned for its flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, produced from estate vineyards in Rutherford, a terroir celebrated for its power and elegance. The wines are crafted under the direction of Philippe Bascaules, who also works with Château Margaux in Bordeaux, ensuring that the estate combines Old World finesse with New World intensity. Inglenook’s portfolio also includes Rubicon, a Bordeaux-style blend that has become the estate’s signature, along with other varietals that showcase the diversity of the vineyard holdings.

As a brand, Inglenook embodies heritage, resilience, and artistry. It represents the story of Napa Valley itself: a vision rooted in European inspiration, challenged by setbacks, and reborn into a modern era where it now stands as both a cultural landmark and a benchmark for American fine wine.
