Ruffino - Prosecco NV is produced in a traditional sparkling wine region, where grapes are hand harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve freshness. Base wines are fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel before blending.

Secondary fermentation takes place either by the classic méthode traditionnelle in bottle or the Charmat method in pressurized tanks, depending on style. Lees aging is carefully monitored to develop texture, while disgorgement and dosage decisions are made to maintain balance.

The producer emphasizes clarity, precision, and respect for tradition, ensuring a sparkling wine built on craftsmanship rather than shortcuts.

Ruffino

Ruffino is one of Italy's most historic and globally recognized wine brands, with a legacy that dates back to its founding in 1877 by cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino. The winery is based in the medieval village of Pontassieve, near Florence, in the heart of Tuscany. From its inception, the founders had a visionary goal: to produce high-quality Tuscan wines that could be enjoyed by a global audience, making them one of the first Italian wineries to focus on international exports.

The brand's identity is built on a foundation of tradition and a commitment to quality. For over a century, Ruffino has been synonymous with Chianti, and it was a leader in the region's modernization. In 1984, when Chianti was granted DOCG status, Ruffino was awarded the very first DOCG certification strip, a testament to its long-standing reputation for excellence.

Ruffino's portfolio includes a wide range of wines from throughout Italy, though its core strength remains in Tuscany. Its flagship wines are the historic Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale and the even more exclusive Riserva Ducale Oro. Beyond Chianti, Ruffino has expanded to other key Tuscan wine regions like Montalcino and Bolgheri, and it produces a variety of popular wines including Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, and a line of modern "Super Tuscan" wines. While the company is now owned by Constellation Brands, it continues to operate with a deep respect for its Tuscan heritage and a philosophy of blending time-honored techniques with contemporary winemaking innovation.
