Silvio Grasso - Barolo 2021 is crafted in Italy’s most renowned vineyard zones, where strict appellation rules and centuries of tradition govern production. Grapes are harvested by hand from hillside vineyards, often with a mix of marl and clay soils that encourage long ripening and concentrated fruit. Only the healthiest clusters are chosen, reflecting a deep respect for quality at the source.

Fermentation typically takes place in temperature‑controlled tanks with extended maceration to draw structure from the skins. Aging follows in large oak casks or a mix of French barriques and Slavonian botti, often for years, which allows the wine to develop depth and character while remaining faithful to its terroir. The final blend is assembled after careful tasting, ensuring balance, typicity, and longevity.

The estate’s approach blends traditional methods with modern precision, preserving regional identity while meeting international standards of excellence.

Silvio Grasso

Silvio Grasso is a family-run winery located in the La Morra commune of Italy's Piedmont region, a prestigious area renowned for its Barolo wines. The brand's identity is a testament to its long history, dating back to 1927, and its commitment to a modern yet traditional style of winemaking. While the family had been cultivating grapes for decades, the winery began bottling its own wines and gaining a reputation in the 1980s under the leadership of Federico Grasso, son of the founder, Silvio.

The brand's philosophy is centered on the unique terroir of its vineyards, all of which are located within the La Morra area, including in notable cru sites like Bricco Luciani and Bricco Manzoni. They practice a form of natural agriculture, using organic fertilizers and integrated pest control to ensure the health of the vines and the purity of the grapes.

Silvio Grasso is best known for its impressive collection of Barolos, which are celebrated for their elegance, power, and structure. The winery also produces excellent wines from other regional grapes, such as Barbera and Nebbiolo, all crafted in a style that respects the rich tradition of the Langhe hills while also embracing modern techniques to create balanced and compelling wines.
