Inspired by the vibrancy of Jamaica, its land and the joyful nature of its people, Appleton Estate has been crafting rum for over 265 years. Crafted with Jamaican limestone-filtered water and no added flavors, Appleton Estate Signature Blend is a delicious blend of pot and column still rums, aged for an average of 4 years.

Appleton Estate V/X Jamaican Rum is a signature blend of 15 carefully selected rums aged for an average of five years in oak barrels, crafted in the heart of Jamaica’s Nassau Valley. It opens with inviting aromas of orange peel, dried apricot, and banana, layered with vanilla, molasses, and toasted oak. On the palate, it is smooth and medium-bodied, offering flavors of caramel, brown sugar, and warm spice balanced by citrus and tropical fruit notes. The finish is long and mellow, leaving hints of oak, nutmeg, and rich molasses sweetness.
Starter: Jerk chicken skewers, fried plantains, or spiced nuts. Main Course: Barbecued pork ribs, grilled shrimp, or Caribbean curry goat. Cheese: Aged cheddar, gouda, or manchego. Dessert: Bananas foster, rum cake, or dark chocolate truffles.

Appleton Estate

Appleton Estate is one of the world’s oldest and most respected rum producers, with a history in Jamaica that dates back to 1749. Located in the Nassau Valley, deep in the island’s interior, the estate is uniquely positioned with its own sugarcane fields, limestone spring water source, and distillery, making it one of the few rum producers in the world to control every stage of production from cane to glass. This estate-grown approach has been central to Appleton’s reputation for quality and authenticity.

Production at Appleton Estate begins with hand-harvested sugarcane, which is milled on-site to create fresh molasses. Fermentation is carried out using proprietary yeast strains, and distillation takes place in a combination of traditional copper pot stills and modern column stills. This blend of methods yields rums with both complexity and smoothness. Aging occurs in American oak barrels in Jamaica’s tropical climate, where heat and humidity accelerate maturation, giving the rums a depth of character unmatched in cooler regions.

Appleton Estate is also distinguished by its long lineage of master blenders, including Joy Spence, the first woman in the spirits industry to hold such a title. The brand offers a wide portfolio, from signature blends to rare aged expressions, all showcasing the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Jamaican rum. Today, Appleton Estate remains a benchmark of authenticity, combining centuries of tradition with innovation while celebrating its deep connection to Jamaica.
