Domaine Gioulis Sofos Agiorgitiko 2021, often referred to as "The Wise One," is a Greek red wine that typically showcases the indigenous Agiorgitiko grape, sometimes blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Peloponnese region. It presents a ruby color with violet tinges. On the nose, it offers vibrant aromas of sour red cherries, cranberries, and red forest fruits, complemented by subtle spicy notes of cloves, allspice, and black pepper. Further nuances of cassis, graphite, violets, and a hint of vanilla or toast can emerge, with some vintages showing menthol or even barnyard notes. The palate is dry, medium-bodied, with well-balanced acidity and firm, often drying, tannins, delivering flavors of fresh blackcurrant, blackberry, red cherry, and a touch of red pepper, sometimes with hints of black chocolate or tomato leaf. The finish is medium to very long, with enduring red fruit and spicy flavors.
