Grey Goose - Citron Vodka is distilled multiple times to achieve a neutral, clean spirit. Base ingredients may include grain, potatoes, or corn, all chosen for quality and purity.

Filtration often involves charcoal or quartz to strip impurities and refine texture, while proofing water is treated to maintain consistency. The goal is a transparent spirit suitable for both neat service and mixology.

Attention to detail at every step ensures a vodka that delivers clarity, balance, and reliability.

Grey Goose

Grey Goose is one of the most famous vodka brands in the world, celebrated for its French origin and its positioning as a symbol of luxury in the spirits market. It was created in the 1990s by Sidney Frank, an American entrepreneur who saw an opportunity to market vodka not as a utilitarian spirit but as a premium lifestyle product. To achieve this, he partnered with François Thibault, a French Maître de Chai (cellar master), who developed the recipe and oversaw production in Cognac, France.

What distinguished Grey Goose from the start was its emphasis on provenance and quality. The vodka is made using soft winter wheat grown in Picardy, an area known for its fertile soils and grain production, and pure spring water from Gensac-la-Pallue in the Cognac region. The production process focuses on precision and consistency, with careful distillation designed to create a vodka that is smooth, clean, and subtly characterful.

Branding played as much of a role as production in Grey Goose’s success. At a time when vodka was often marketed on price, Grey Goose positioned itself as an aspirational product, highlighting its French heritage, elegant packaging, and sophisticated image. The brand became synonymous with nightlife, high-end cocktails, and luxury consumption, particularly in the United States where it was launched.

Since its debut, Grey Goose has expanded its range with flavored expressions such as L’Orange, La Poire, and Le Citron, as well as limited-edition releases. Despite this, its core identity has remained focused on being a super-premium vodka rooted in craftsmanship and French authenticity.

As a brand, Grey Goose represents the fusion of quality production and brilliant marketing. It embodies the idea that vodka can be more than neutral—it can be refined, stylish, and culturally significant. In just a few decades, it has gone from a newcomer to a global icon, widely regarded as the benchmark for premium vodka.
