Ron Zacapa is a premium rum brand from Guatemala, recognized for its exceptional quality and unique production methods. The brand was created in 1976 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the town of Zacapa in eastern Guatemala. It is now a part of the Diageo portfolio of spirits.

The brand's identity is built around a few key differentiators. Unlike most rums which are made from molasses, Ron Zacapa is crafted from "virgin sugar cane honey," which is the concentrated first pressing of sugar cane juice. This gives the rum a naturally sweeter and richer flavor profile. The rum is aged and blended in "The House Above the Clouds," a facility located 2,300 meters above sea level in the Guatemalan highlands. The cool, stable climate at this altitude slows down the aging process, allowing the rum to mature more gradually and develop a greater depth of flavor.
