Trivento Eolo Malbec 2019 is the flagship wine of Bodega Trivento, crafted exclusively from century-old vines rooted in the historic terroir of Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo. The vineyard, planted in 1912 at the foot of the Andes, benefits from stony alluvial soils and the cooling breezes that give the wine its name, “Eolo,” after the god of the wind. These unique conditions create naturally low yields of exceptional quality, allowing for a wine of great concentration and character.
Produced in extremely limited quantities, Eolo represents the pinnacle of Trivento’s expertise and dedication to expressing Argentina’s most emblematic varietal at the highest level. The winemaking process emphasizes precision and respect for tradition, with careful vineyard selection and small-batch vinification designed to showcase both the heritage of the vines and the distinctive identity of Mendoza’s first recognized appellation. With more than a decade of international acclaim, Trivento Eolo has earned its place among the great Malbecs of the world and stands as a collector’s reference point for Argentine fine wine.
Trivento Eolo Malbec 2019 is a wine that speaks with both power and elegance, born from century-old vines in Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo. In the glass it shows a deep, almost opaque purple color, carrying aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, and blackberries intertwined with violets, graphite, and subtle tobacco. The oak aging brings layers of cocoa, vanilla, and spice, giving the bouquet a polished and complex character. On the palate it is concentrated and generous, full of dark fruit framed by firm but finely woven tannins. Its texture is velvety, with freshness balancing the richness, and the finish lingers with notes of mocha, minerals, and dried herbs.
This is a Malbec that calls for bold, flavorful food. Grilled ribeye or roast lamb with herbs brings out its power, while braised short ribs or slow-cooked osso buco highlight its depth and structure. Earthy dishes like mushroom ragout or truffle-infused risotto echo its mineral and savory nuances, and aged cheeses such as Manchego or Parmesan harmonize beautifully with its spice and dark fruit profile. It is a wine made to accompany grand meals and will continue to evolve gracefully in the cellar for years to come.
