Wathen's - Kentucky Bourbon Single Barrel is produced in the United States using a mash bill built around grains such as corn, rye, and malted barley. The mash is cooked and fermented before being distilled, often in copper column or pot stills.

Maturation takes place in new, charred American oak barrels, where seasonal temperature swings drive spirit deep into the wood, extracting color and complexity. Warehouse management and barrel selection are critical, with blenders assembling lots that best represent balance and structure.

The result is a whiskey shaped by grain, oak, and time, reflecting both traditional craft and rigorous quality control.

Wathen's

Wathen's brand is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, revived by the Medley family, and is known for its single-barrel offerings. The brand honors the late R. Wathen Medley, who was a distilling pioneer credited with originating the single barrel bourbon concept. The whiskey is made with a traditional high-corn, high-malted-barley, low-rye mash bill, with 77% corn, 13% malt, and 10% rye, and is contract-distilled under the Medleys' watchful supervision. Each bottle is hand-numbered, featuring the specific barrel number from which it was bottled, a practice that continues the family's long-held tradition of selecting and bottling special barrels.
